How to determine if a shelf bay is populated through ONTAP

There are a variety of commands for managing disks that can provide in depth detail on each disk within an ONTAP cluster.  When a disk is missing from a system (or more appropriately when a disk shelf bay is empty) it might not be be apparent while looking at a large quantity of disks within the system.
