Validate
- Login to SANtricity System Manager.
- Confirm SANtricity reports one of more of the following error messages in the Recovery GURU:
Failure Entry 1: NOMINAL_TEMP_EXCEEDED-Recovery Failure Type Code: 7
Storage array: NetApp_ESERIES
Component reporting problem: Thermal sensor
Status: Nominal temperature exceeded
Location: Drive Tray 3 Power-fan canister (Right)
Component requiring service: Temperature sensor Tray: Drive tray 3
Resolution
- Check data center temperatures are within hardware specifications.
- Check the ambient temperatures near the front and rear of the chassis are within specifications.
- Confirm there is no dust or other hardware configurations blocking proper airflow control to the system.
