Validate

  1. Login to SANtricity Storage Manager or SANtricity System Manager
  2. Confirm SANtricity reports one of more of the following error messages in the Recovery GURU:

Failure Entry 4: MAX_TEMP_EXCEEDED-Recovery Failure Type Code: 8
Storage array: NetApp_E2700
Component reporting problem: Thermal sensor
Status: UNKNOWN
Location: Controller/Drive Shelf 99 Power supply canister (Top)
Component requiring service: Temperature sensor
Shelf: Controller/Drive shelf 99

Resolution

  1. Check data center temperatures are within hardware specifications
  2. Check the ambient temperatures near the front and rear of the chassis are within specifications
  3. Contact NetApp Technical Support for additional support
