40GbE Adapter Missing or Disappears from ONTAP After Firmware Downgrade

Issue

  • Replacement of motherboard/adapter or ONTAP downgrade on new controller from applies to section occurs
  • Firmware downgrade of the 40GbE adapter completes
  • ONTAP "sysconfig -v" output no longer shows the 40GbE ports as present
  • ONTAP will display the following alerts at boot:

[node1:netif.fwUpdateStatus:notice]: Firmware update of network interface e0a to version n5.04(e800046b3) Starting....

[node1:netif.fwUpdateStatus:notice]: Firmware update of network interface e0f to version n5.04(e800046b3) Completed. System halts now, perform hard AC power cycle..
