Answer

If the NSX installation is a VM on ESXi, it means that you are not directly installing anything on the compute hardware but rather on top of the ESXi. In such a case, the customer should contact VMware to ensure compatibility between the current ESXi version and the NSX version, and to verify the appropriate installation procedure.
