  • SMB Multichannel features are supported starting in ONTAP 9.4
  • SMB Multichannel features are NOT supported in any ONTAP release before ONTAP 9.4
  • SMB Multichannel - Provides multiple connections between ONTAP and clients in a single SMB session. Doing so improves throughput and fault tolerance for Hyper-V and SQL server over SMB configurations.
  • SMB Multichannel may be nondisruptively applied to an existing SVM in ONTAP 9.4 and later
