Issue

  • Ems logs show multiple LIFs down errors on ports e2a, e2b, e2c, e2d.
ERROR  netif.linkErrors: Excessive link errors on network interface e2c. Might indicate a bad cable, switch port, or NIC, or that a cable connector is not fully inserted in a socket. On a 10/100 port, might indicate a duplex mismatch.
ALERT vifmgr.cluscheck.hwerrors: Port e2d on node Node06 is reporting a high number (at least 1 per 1000 packets) of observed hardware errors (CRC,length, alignment, dropped).
ALERT  hm.alert.raised: Alert Id = NodeIfInErrorsWarnAlert , Alerting Resource = Node06/e2d raised by monitor controller
    ALERT  hm.alert.raised: Alert Id = ClusterIfInErrorsWarn_Alert , Alerting Resource = Node02/Slot: 0 Port: 6 10G - Level raised by monitor ethernet-switch
ALERT  hm.alert.raised: Alert Id = NodeIfInErrorsWarnAlert , Alerting Resource = Node06/e2c raised by monitor controller
    ALERT  hm.alert.raised: Alert Id = ClusterIfInErrorsWarn_Alert , Alerting Resource = Node02/Slot: 0 Port: 6 10G - Level raised by monitor ethernet-switch
ERROR  netif.linkErrors: Excessive link errors on network interface e2d. Might indicate a bad cable, switch port, or NIC, or that a cable connector is not fully inserted in a socket. On a 10/100 port, might indicate a duplex mismatch.
  • Changing the SFPs on two ports of node and switch side but the issue remains the same.
  • Tested using a known good cable but issue persisted.
