Description

  • This article describes the steps required for a cold-swap upgrade.
  • When replacing the IOM module in a shelf with a different model it requires the following components to be powered off during the change:
    • ALL nodes that connect to the impacted shelves.
    • ALL ATTO bridges (if applicable) that connect to the impacted shelves.
    • The shelves of which the IOM model will be changed.
  • Possible upgrades:
    • IOM3 to IOM6
    • IOM3 to IOM12*
    • IOM6 to IOM12*

*Be aware of SAS port differences between IOM3/IOM6 (QSFP) and IOM12 (MiniSAS-HD)
