Chassis power supply is degraded Power Output has failed

Issue

  • One Power Supply Unit (PSU) is failing with an attention LED ON
  • AutoSupport messages triggered for both nodes in the HA pair:

[node_name: env_mgr: callhome.chassis.ps.replace:error]: Call home for CHASSIS POWER SUPPLY NEED TO BE REPLACED: PS 1

  • Event Management System (EMS) messages reported:

[node_name: env_mgr: monitor.chassisPowerSupply.degraded:notice]: Chassis power supply 1 is degraded: PSU1 has failed

[node_name: env_mgr: monitor.chassisPowerSupply.degraded:notice]: Chassis power supply 1 is degraded: PSU1 Power Output has failed

[node_name: env_mgr: monitor.chassisPowerSupply.off:notice]: Chassis power supply 1 off

  • Node reports CriticalFruMultiFaultAlert in sytem health alert output and event logs:

[Node-01: mgwd: callhome.hm.alert.critical:alert]: Call home for Health Monitor process cphm: CriticalFruMultiFaultAlert[XXXXXXX].
