CONTAP-244031: SwitchFanNotPresent_Alert reported after ONTAP upgrade to 9.13.1

Issue

  • These Ethernet switch health monitor alerts occur after upgrading to 9.13.1:
    hm.alert.raised: Alert Id = SwitchFanNotPresent_Alert , Alerting Resource = ClusterSwitch(FOCXXXX)/Fan Module-4
    hm.alert.raised: Alert Id = SwitchFanNotPresent_Alert , Alerting Resource = ClusterSwitch(FOCXXXX)/Fan Module-3
    hm.alert.raised: Alert Id = SwitchFanNotPresent_Alert , Alerting Resource = ClusterSwitch(FOCXXXX)/Fan Module-2
    hm.alert.raised: Alert Id = SwitchFanNotPresent_Alert , Alerting Resource = ClusterSwitch(FOCXXXX)/Fan Module-1
  • When checking switch status directly, no errors are reported.
  • The issue has only been reported on Cisco Nexus 3132Q-V (NX3132) switches.
  • You can check fan health with the "show environment fan detail" command on the Cisco Nexus switch.
  • Example:
    Switch> enable
    Switch# show environment fan detail
