Issue

  • System reports alerts similar to the following:
    [Node02: cshmd: hm.alert.raised:alert]: Alert Id = SwitchFanNotPresent_Alert , Alerting Resource = switchA(xxxxxx)/Fan Module-1 raised by monitor ethernet-switch
    [Node02: cshmd: hm.alert.raised:alert]: Alert Id = SwitchFanNotPresent_Alert , Alerting Resource = switchA(xxxxxx)/Fan Module-2 raised by monitor ethernet-switch
    [Node02: cshmd: hm.alert.raised:alert]: Alert Id = SwitchFanNotPresent_Alert , Alerting Resource = switchA(xxxxxx)/Fan Module-3 raised by monitor ethernet-switch
    [Node02: cshmd: hm.alert.raised:alert]: Alert Id = SwitchFanNotPresent_Alert , Alerting Resource = switchA(xxxxxx)/Fan Module-4 raised by monitor ethernet-switch
    [Node02: cshmd: hm.alert.raised:alert]: Alert Id = SwitchFanNotPresent_Alert , Alerting Resource = switchA(xxxxxxx)/Fan Module-1 raised by monitor ethernet-switch
  • However, switch information does not indicate any issues with the switch's HW components.
