Answer

To configure ARP/AI for AutoSupport in ONTAP, follow these steps:
  1. For automatic security updates, AutoSupport and AutoSupport OnDemand should be enabled and the transport protocol should be set to HTTPS.
  • AutoSupport uses HTTPS for secure communication.
  • The default port for HTTPS communication is 443.
  1. Configure LIF for AutoSupport:
  • The LIF used for AutoSupport should be configured with the role `management-autosupport`.
  • This ensures that the LIF is dedicated to handling AutoSupport communications.
  1. Verify Network Settings:
  • Ensure that the network settings allow outbound HTTPS traffic on port 443.
  • This is necessary for AutoSupport to communicate with NetApp's support servers.
  1. Enable Autonomous Ransomware Protection
  • ARP/AI settings should be configured to ensure proper network communication.
  • Verify that the ARP settings are correctly configured to resolve IP addresses within the network.
  1. How to test AOD (AutoSupport On Demand) :
  • After configuration, test the AutoSupport functionality to ensure that it is working correctly.
  • Send a test AutoSupport message and verify that it is received by NetApp support.
