Event Summary

SANtricity reports a Major Event Log Event for data/parity mismatch.

This will open a automatic AutoSupport case with summary:

EDATAI:E-Series Notification from <array name> (Data/parity mismatch on volume) CRITICAL

Validate

Verify from the Major Event log if the following error is reported:

Resolution

  1. Identify the volume that is affected (see example in Validate section)
  2. Download the SMCLI software: How to run CLI scripts and commands for systems running 11.60 and 11.70 firmware
    • For versions pre 11.60, SANtricity Storage Manager needs to be installed which has the script editor functionality
  3. Follow the steps described in the following articles as applicable to repair the data/parity mismatch:
    1. Using CLI on systems running pre-11.80 OS: How to check/repair volume parity errors on E-Series arrays running pre-11.80 OS
    2. Using API on systems running 11.80 or newer OS: How to check/repair volume parity errors on E-Series arrays running 11.80 or newer OS via API
    3. Using CLI on systems running 11.80 or newer OS: How to check/repair volume parity errors via CLI on E-Series arrays running 11.80 or newer
