StorageGRID Cassandra Communication Error - AutoSupport Message

Event Summary
- StorageGRID reports
CassandraCommunicationError
indicating nodes that run the Cassandra service are having trouble communicating with each other. - This alert indicates that something is interfering with node-to-node communications. There might be a network issue , the Cassandra service might be down on one or more Storage Nodes or the nodes are overloaded preventing communication
Validate
Verify if the Cassandra service is "running" on each storage node by going to Support > Grid Topology > Storage Node > SSM > Services
Resolution
- If Cassandra is not running, follow the steps for starting or restarting a service.
- Verify if one of the below knowledge base articles is applicable:
- If all instances of the Cassandra service are now running and the alert is not resolved, contact NetApp Technical Support
Additional Information
If the affected nodes are under decommissioning or the E-Series backend storage is upgraded , this is an expected behavior as services are being stopped including Cassandra Service causing CassandraCommunicationError
alarm. No further action is required.
