ActiveIQ Unified Manager upgrade fails with jboss permission errors

Applies to

  • ActiveIQ Unified Manager(UM) 9.6+
  • Windows platform
  • JBoss password was previously reset
  • Took a UM backup and restored it when UM is lower than 9.12

Issue

  • Unable to login to AIQUM after upgrade with Error 404
  • Upgrade doesn't complete after showing Starting UM Services. This may take couple of minutes. Please wait...
  • server.log:

Caused by: java.sql.SQLInvalidAuthorizationSpecException: Could not connect to address=(host=localhost)(port=3306)(type=master) : (conn=4269) Access denied for user 'jboss'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
Current charset is windows-1252. If password has been set using other charset, consider using option 'passwordCharacterEncoding'
