SP/BMC inaccessible with the error: Unable to update SP network information at this time

Issue

  • Unable to access SP/BMC via SSH.
  • The SP/BMC IP address is not pingable.
  • The following events are reported in the event logs:

splog.warnings: Could not retrieve logs from the SP for 24 hours: splogd is running in degraded mode and having difficulty getting splogs from the SP FW

[Node-1: rlm_hbtrcv_non_blocking: spmgmt.driver.timeout:error]: The software driver for the Service Processor (SP) detected a problem: Unable to update SP network information at this time.

  • The sysconfig -a output for BMC or SP marked as unknown:
