Event Summary

  • An AutoSupport messages is generated with title:

E-Series Notification (Power supply failed) CRITICAL

  • An associated case is generated with symptom:

EVOLEN:E-Series Notification from Unnamed (Power supply failed) CRITICAL

Validate

  1. Login to SANtricity Storage Manager or SANtricity System Manager
  2. Confirm SANtricity reports one of more of the following error messages in the Recovery GURU:
    1. Failure Entry 1: SUPPORT_CRU_NOINPUT-Recovery Failure Type Code: 97
      Storage array: xyz
      Component reporting problem: Power supply canister (Right)
      Status: No power input
      Location: Controller/Drive shelf 99
  3. Confirm from the Hardware tab that the power supply shows as failed
    1. Example:

             Power Supplies Detected:  2

                     Power supply status:  Optimal          
                     Location:             Left             
                     Part number:          114-00148+D0     
                     Serial number:        111111111111111  
                     Vendor:               DELTA            
                     Date of manufacture:  Not Available    


                     Power supply status:  Failed           
                     Location:             Right            
                     Part number:          114-00148+D0     
                     Serial number:        222222222222222  
                     Vendor:               DELTA            
                     Date of manufacture:  Not Available   

Resolution

  • Ensure there are no issues with the power source feeding the PSU (power supply unit).
  • Contact NetApp Technical Support as this will likely require a power supply replacement
  • If AutoSupport is enabled, this event should have already created a technical support case
