How can I calculate effective capacity for block data?

Answer

Total capacity for block data = Total cluster capacity  -  Cluster metadata capacity

Example:

For a 6 H610S-4 storage node cluster:

  • 72 total drives
  • 6 metadata drives
  • 3.84 TB per drive

Total cluster capacity = 72 * 3.84 TB = 276.48 TB

Cluster metadata capacity = 6 * 3.84 TB = 23.04 TB

Total capacity for block data = 276.48 TB - 23.04 TB = 253.44 TB
