ONTAP FC client can not access storage LUN

Issue

  • FC Hosts/Clients can not access LUN but other Hosts can
  • Hosts with access is impacted by performance problems
  • Microsoft Hyper-V system log reports Event ID 153
  • Microsoft Hyper-V device manager reports storage adapter HBA port in unknown status with "This device is not functioning correctly"
  • ONTAP event logs reports every few minutes FC IO error state=5 and AEN 0x8048 error
  • ONTAP ASUP and monitoring indicate FC port SFP transmit optical power went down by half
