Rubrik-created snapshot delete fails "has not expired or is locked"

Applies to

  • ONTAP 9.13.1RC1 and newer
  • Rubrik 8.1.3p1 and older
  • Rubrik 9.0.0p2 and older

Issue

When performing backup jobs, Rubrik can request the following of Ontap:

  • The creation of a temporary snapshot on the source volume
  • The creation of a temporary Flexclone, using the snapshot as a parent
  • The deletion of the temporary Flexclone
  • The deletion of the temporary snapshot
The snapshot delete will fail. Subsequent manual deletion of the snapshot also fails with error "has not expired or is locked"
