Issue

  • Port e0M is up and hosts two LIFs, One of the LIF is showing operational down.

Cluster1::> net port show -node Cluster1-02
  (network port show)

Node: Cluster1-02
                                                  Speed(Mbps) Health
Port      IPspace      Broadcast Domain Link MTU  Admin/Oper  Status
--------- ------------ ---------------- ---- ---- ----------- --------
e0M       Default      Default          up   1500  auto/1000  healthy

Cluster1::> net int show
    (network interface show)
            Logical    Status     Network            Current       Current Is
Vserver     Interface  Admin/Oper Address/Mask       Node          Port    Home
----------- ---------- ---------- ------------------ ------------- ------- ----
Cluster1
            Cluster1-02_mgmt1 up/down 10.XXX.XXX.165/25 Cluster1-02 e0M true
Cluster1_SVM1
            Cluster1_SVM1_admin_lif1 up/up 10.XXX.XXX.177/25 Cluster1-02 e0M true

  • Below error is seen when migrating the LIF

Cluster1::> net int migrate -vserver Cluster1_SVM1 -lif Cluster1_SVM1_admin_lif1 -destination-node Cluster1-01 -destination-port e0M
  (network interface migrate)

Error: command failed: LIF "Cluster1_SVM1_admin_lif1" failed to migrate: failed to remove LIF from source Nblade.

  • Flapping the port, we see below error

Cluster1::*> net port modify -node Cluster1-02 -port e0M -UP-admin false
  (network port modify)

Warning: Port e0M" on node "Cluster1-02" is the current port for one or more node-scoped system LIFs. This is the only available port in broadcat domain Default" for this node, so pulling the port down might interrupt services required for proper cluster operation. Are you sure you want to continue? {y|n}: y
