Applies to

  • ONTAP 9
  • Storage failover

Answer

  • If the version of software running on each node of the SFO pair is incompatible, the automatic takeover will not occur when node panics.
  • Manual takeover can be allowed if specify allow-version-mismatch while running the storage failover takeover command.

::> set advanced

::*> storage failover takeover -ofnode cluster-01 -bypass-optimization true -option allow-version-mismatch

  • However, the takeover operation will not be allowed if the partner has higher WAFL or RAID label versions.
