Why HIC temp sensor shows with status disabled in A250?

Answer

  • Depending on the HIC type, the temp sensors on the card could be 0, 1 or 2.
  • If the sensor is not present on the card, the policy set the sensor in disabled state. It is expected behavior.

Additional Information

  • In node run -node * -command environment status we can see
HIC1 Temp1 disabled -- C 3 C 5 C 101 C 103 C
  • In sp-latest-ipmi output, the sensor will show like:
HIC1_TEMP1 | na | degrees C | na | 1.000 | 3.000 | 5.000 | 101.000 | 103.000 | 105.000
  • It can also be checked as disabled in AutoSupport section PLATFORM-SENSORS.xml
