Applies to

  • RAID 4 storage pool
  • Added SSD drives to the storage pool

Issue

  • New SSD drives added to an existing storage pool using RAID 4
  • The capacity of the storage pool does not increase
  • The newly added drives show up in the spare pool. Example
  • RAID 4 storage pool SP1 created with 11 drives

::*> storage pool show-disks
Storage Pool Name: SP1
             Disk
    Disk     Type    Usable Size  Total Size
    -------- ------- ----------- -----------
    2.71.0   SSD         372.4GB     372.6GB
    ...
    2.71.10  SSD         372.4GB     372.6GB
11 entries were displayed.

  • Added 13 more drives:

::*> storage pool show-disks
Storage Pool Name: SP1
             Disk
    Disk     Type    Usable Size  Total Size
    -------- ------- ----------- -----------
    2.71.0   SSD         372.4GB     372.6GB
    ...
    2.71.10  SSD         372.4GB     372.6GB
    2.71.11  SSD         372.4GB     372.6GB
    ...
    2.71.23  SSD         372.4GB     372.6GB
24 entries were displayed.

  • The newly added 13 drives show up in the spare pool of both the nodes with partitions, instead of being added to the hybrid aggregates.
