Takeover node shuts down due to degraded PSU readings

Issue

  • While node 2 has taken over the partner node 1 for hardware maintenance, the following errors and system shutdown  of node 2 are seen:

Mon Jun 05 19:09:58 -0400 [node2: env_mgr: monitor.chassisPowerSupply.degraded:notice]: Chassis power supply 1 is degraded: PSU1 InPower is Warning High (1000 W)
Mon Jun 05 19:09:59 -0400 [node2: power_low_monitor: monitor.chassisPower.degraded:alert]: Chassis power is degraded: Power Supply Status Critical: PSU1 FRU.
Mon Jun 05 19:09:59 -0400 [node2: power_low_monitor: callhome.chassis.power:error]: Call home for CHASSIS POWER DEGRADED: Power Supply Status Critical: PSU1 FRU.

Mon Jun 05 19:10:00 -0400 [node2: monitor: monitor.globalStatus.critical:EMERGENCY]: This node has taken over node1. Power Supply Status Critical: PSU1 FRU.
Mon Jun 05 19:11:28 -0400 [node2: env_mgr: monitor.chassisPowerSupply.degraded:notice]: Chassis power supply 1 is degraded: PSU1 InPower is Critical High (1020 W)

  • The following is seen in the BMC event logs of node 2 during this time:
