Node reported "unknown" state during ONTAP upgrade

Issue

  • Node reported "unknown" state during ONTAP upgrade and fails to boot, reporting the following error:
                   “ERROR: [D9] Boot option loading failed”
  • Node was power cycled, issue remained.
  • Boot device was reseated, issue remained.
  • Boot device was replaced as per Node fails to boot with error: Boot option loading failed, after the replacement, "show devices" from LOADER didn't detect the boot device, the following errors were reported:
