NIC port seeing CRC errors in ifstat

Issue

  • The output of the ifstat command shows high CRC errors on the affected port:

::> system node run -node <NODE_NAME> -command ifstat <PORT>

  • Following errors are reported in event logs:

[Node-02: vifmgr: vifmgr.cluscheck.crcerrors:alert]: Port e4a on node Node-02 is reporting a high number of observed CRC errors.

  • IFCONFIG-VVVM may shows the SFP Rx power is lower than expect:

    e9a: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500

     media: Ethernet autoselect <rxpause,txpause> (25GBase-SR <full-duplex,rxpause,txpause>)
     status: active

     plugged: SFP/SFP+/SFP28 100GBASE-SR4 or 25GBASE-SR (LC)
     module temperature: 36.62 C voltage: 3.33 Volts
     lane 1: RX power: 0.08 mW (-11.10 dBm) TX bias: 8.02 mA
