  • AFF A800, AFF C800
  • ASA A800, ASA C800
  • ONTAP 9

Issue

  • Temperature sensors LED1 and LED2 trigger an environmental shutdown when the upper non-critical threshold (43°C) has been reached, instead of the upper critical threshold that normally triggers environmental shutdowns:

[Node1: env_mgr: monitor.shutdown.chassisOverTemp:EMERGENCY]: Chassis temperature is too hot: Ambient temperature is warning high. System will be shutdown in 2 minutes
[Node1: env_mgr: monitor.chassisTemperature.warm:alert]: Chassis temperature is too warm: LED2 Temp is warning high (43 C).
[Node1: monitor: monitor.globalStatus.critical:EMERGENCY]: Chassis temperature is too high..
[Node1: env_mgr: callhome.chassis.overtemp:EMERGENCY]: Call home for CHASSIS OVER TEMPERATURE SHUTDOWN
[Node1: env_mgr: callhome.chassis.hitemp:error]: Call home for CHASSIS OVER TEMPERATURE

  • Both nodes in the HA pair are shut down causing an outage.
