It is needed to migrate the root aggregate from partitioned to non-partitioned disks?
Applies to
- NetApp Storage System with initial Root-Data disk partitioning in the internal shelf
- New external shelf added
Answer
- No. It is not needed to migrate the root aggregate from partitioned to non-partitioned disks, when adding a new shelf.
- When a new shelf with disks is added to a NetApp Storage System:
- No additional partitioning for that shelf is needed
- No root aggregate changes (movements) are needed
- The existing data aggregates can be expanded with the new disks added, in new RAID groups.
