Issue

  • Both ports are down
  • Both ports are physically connected to different switches and different networks

sysconfig -a example:

slot 3: Dual-port 10G Ethernet Controller CNA ISP 8324
(Dual-port, QLogic CNA 8324(8362) rev. 2)
e3a MAC Address:    0x:ax:xx:xx:4x:7x (auto-unknown-fd-down)

EMS log messages example:

ERROR net.ifgrp.lacp.link.inactive: ifgrp a1d, port e3a has transitioned to an inactive state. The interface group is in a degraded state
ERROR net.ifgrp.lacp.link.inactive: ifgrp a1d, port e3b has transitioned to an inactive state. The interface group is in a degraded state

[filerxx: mgmt_port_link_status_poll: netif.linkDown:info]: Ethernet e3a: Link down, check cable.

 

  • Port and ifgrp status is down: 
::> net port show
::> net port ifgrp show -node <node_name> -ifgrp <ifgrp_name> -instance
::> net port show -node <node_name> -port <port_name> -instance
  • Cable re-seating/replacing to no avail
  • Storage controller SFP re-seating/replacing to no avail
  • Switch port SFP re-seating/replacing to no avail
  • Using different switch port to no avail
