Both nodes report chassis temperature sensors invalid

Issue

  • Both nodes report the following sensors invalid which can be seen in the system sensors show command output from the Service Processor:
Chassis is Under Temp    invalid            --
Chassis is Over Temp     invalid            --
Thermal Shutdown         invalid            --
Temp Average Low         invalid            --
Temp Average High        invalid            --
  • The following HBA is installed in the affected slots:

sysconfig: slot 3 OK: X91135A: HBA,4-Port FCP Target 32Gb PCIe

slot 3: Fibre Channel Target Host Adapter 3a
(Emulex LPe32000 (LPe32004) rev. 12, <ONLINE>)

  • IO cards with the affected HBA installed will report invalid temperature readings although the card is present and healthy as indiated by the "FRU_AVAIL" output:
