Issue

After Node1 went down, an attempt to recover it with an unknown-source spare motherboard caused the entire FCP service to go down.

  • Node Node1 remained offline.
  • All LUNs were lost from SAN hosts, even though FC LIFs were configured on the partner node Node2.
  • The FCP service was unavailable, and the cluster was unable to establish FCP connections with clients or the SAN switch.
  • fcp adapter show output:

::> network fcp adapter show
Connection Port Admin Operational
Node Adapter Established Address Status Status
------------ -------- ----------- ------- -------- ---------------

  • No virtual WWPNs were visible from the SAN switch for Node1.
