CONTAP-768763: System Manager displays "Details couldn't be found for Switch ports" and no switch interface data is collected for NVIDIA Ethernet switches

Issue

  • The ONTAP System Manager Ethernet switch Ports tab displays the message "Details couldn't be found for Switch ports".
  • On the ONTAP cluster, system switch ethernet interface show returns no entries for the monitored NVIDIA switches.
  • All other Ethernet switch health monitor (CSHM) data continues to be collected normally:
    • fan
    • power
    • temperature
    • utilization (CPU)
    • switch information and switch support
  • The Switch-Health subsystem can also remain in an unknown state.
    system health subsystem show -subsystem switch-health -instance reports a health of "unknown" with an initialization state of "start_discovery".
  • Only the Ethernet switch's interface information is affected. There is no data-path, connectivity, or storage-availability impact, and the switch ports remain in normal production use.
  • A single affected switch prevents switch port data from being collected for every monitored switch, so the Ports tab is empty even for switches that are healthy.
