Issue

  • ONTAP Ethernet switch health monitor (CSHM) might report a "SwitchIfDead_Alert" alert on a cluster intra-switch ISL interface
  • This is despite the intra-switch ISL ports being up and healthy
  • Thus, this is likely a false-positive alert E.g.

hm.alert.raised: Alert Id = SwitchIfDead_Alert , Alerting Resource = sw1/Slot: 0 Port: 56 100G - Level raised by monitor ethernet-switch
  • or

hm.alert.raised: Alert Id = SwitchIfDead_Alert , Alerting Resource = sw2 (XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:X1)/bridge raised by monitor ethernet-switch
