Issue

  • ONTAP Ethernet switch health monitor (CSHM) might report a "SwitchIfDead_Alert" alert on a cluster intra-switch ISL interface
  • The intra-switch ISL ports are up and healthy
  • If the receive/transmit unicast traffic is not increasing over a period of time, this is likely a false-positive alert. E.g.

hm.alert.raised: Alert Id = SwitchIfDead_Alert , Alerting Resource = sw1/Slot: 0 Port: 56 100G - Level raised by monitor ethernet-switch
