CONTAP-205642: FAS2820 RDMA Interconnect is down with all links up and failover not possible

Issue

  • Storage failover not possible, after a head HW upgrade, reusing the "old" controller chassis.

  • "::> storage failover show" output example:
    Takeover is not possible: Storage failover interconnect error, NVRAM log not synchronized, Disk inventory not exchanged
    Interconnect Links RDMA Interconnect is down <<<<<

  • &quot;::&gt;system ha interconnect status show&quot; output example:
    Link 0 Status up
    Link 1 Status up
    IC RDMA Connection down <<<<<
    Is Link 0 Active true
    Is Link 1 Active true

  • Backplane mismatch for each node in the same chassis:
    ::> system node run -node node_name-01 -command sysconfig
    Backplane Serial Number: 123456789111 <<<<<
    ::> system node run -node node_name-02 -command sysconfig
    Backplane Serial Number: 123456789222 <<<<<
