Issue

  • The ONTAP Ethernet Switch Health Monitor (CSHM) may raise a SwitchInfoUpdateFailure_Alert after replacing or renaming an Ethernet switch.
  • When this occurs, the switch entry is removed from CSHM, and its information is no longer updated.
  • Log collection must be reconfigured for the new switch entry.
  • The alert will persist for up to 7 days after CSHM loses the switch.
  • If the switch is re-added within the 7-day period, periodic log collection may automatically resume.

hm.alert.raised: Alert Id = SwitchInfoUpdateFailure_Alert , Alerting Resource = sw1 raised by monitor ethernet-switch
