-- Node: node_name -- Alert ID: SharedandDedicatedSwitchtoShelf_Alert -- Resource: Shelf UUID: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx -- Severity: Major -- Indication Time: Mon Jan 01 01:02:03 2024 -- Suppress: false -- Acknowledge: false -- Probable Cause: Shelf 1.0 is connected to both shared and dedicated -- storage switches. -- Possible Effect: This configuration is not supported. -- Corrective Actions: 1. Consult the guides that apply to your NVMe shelf and shared switch to review the cabling rules for your system. -- 2. Connect shelf 1.0 only through either shared or -- dedicated storage switches.

  • The cluster storage is cabled as per the guides with no noticed issues
  • The storage can be connected directly with SAS/NVMe and/or with switched NS224 shelves
  • The switched connected shelves are using the correct storage switche with compatible fw. version and RCF
  • Health alerts can be reported from SAS shelves, which are not connected to dedicated storage switches
  • This issue can be noticed during an ONTAP upgrade
