BMC for AFF-A50, AFF-C60, AFF-A30, AFF-C30, AFF-A20, AFF-C20 supports automatic battery firmware upgrades starting from version 19.3. This feature requires that system power remains ON throughout the battery upgrade process. Once the system boots with BMC version 19.3 or later, the BMC automatically initiates the battery upgrade.
If the system power is OFF during the upgrade attempt, the battery upgrade process will fail, and the following System Event Log (SEL) entry will be generated:
“BBU upgrade failed: system power is off.”
