CFBMC-5983: ONTAP might report a "low voltage" condition with the NVRAM battery and shut down the controller after 24 hours
Issue
- On AFF A400, AFF C400, ASA A400, ASA C400, FAS8300 or FAS8700 systems with BMC version 13.11, ONTAP might report a "low voltage" condition with the NVRAM battery and shut down the controller after 24 hours.
- The following event messages are an example of this issue:

Fri Jan 10 11:00:00 -0500 [node1: statd: monitor.nvramLowBattery:EMERGENCY]: NVRAM battery is dangerously low.
Fri Jan 10 11:00:00 -0500 [node1: statd: monitor.nvramLowBattery.notice:notice]: If the NVRAM battery is dangerously low, the system shuts down automatically every 24 hours to encourage you to replace it. If you reboot the system it will run for another 24 hours before shutting down.
Fri Jan 10 11:00:00 -0500 [node1: statd: callhome.battery.low:alert]: Call home for BATTERY_LOW.
Fri Jan 10 11:00:00 -0500 [node1: statd: monitor.shutdown.nvramLowBattery.pending:alert]: NVRAM battery is dangerously low. Halting system in 24 hours. Replace the battery immediately!
