  • ONTAP running on AFF models supports cross volume deduplication (or also known as aggregate level deduplication)
  • In limited situations this storage efficiency might be desired on FAS models
  • Considering the resource intensive nature of this technology, this should only be implemented after very careful review and testing
  • Due to CONTAP-505318 this feature should not be enabled on FAS70/90 platforms to avoid node disruption
