StorageGRID appliance node reports CCNA or "Appliance compute controller needs attention" on SG60xx, SG100 or SG1000
Applies to
SG60xx, SG100 and SG1000
Issue
StorageGRID reports the following alert and/or alarm:
- Alarm:
CCNA (Compute Controller Needs Attention)
- Alert:
"Appliance compute controller needs attention"
- Alert:
"A hardware fault has been detected"
Troubleshooting Steps:
- Identify if there are any hardware related components in a faulty state, refer to alerts reference and/or alarms reference
- Verify from the BMC interface if any error messages or entries exist in the BMC events. If
Volt_PxV_BAT
is observed, see StorageGRID alert Hardware fault has been detected in the computer controller for Volt_PxV_BAT - When no errors are observered or have been checked/resolved, try clearing the BMC SEL log and rebooting the BMC to clear any false positive errors
- If rebooting the BMC did not clear the error, try to power drain the node:
- Shutdown the compute node and confirm that the node is powered down
- Disconnect the power cable.
- Wait for 5 to 10 minutes
- Reconnect the cables and power on the node
