StorageGRID detects hardware fault for Volt_PxV_BAT due to faulty CMOS battery

  • NetApp StorageGRID
  • Appliance Models: SGF60xx, SG60xx, SG100 and SG1000

Issue

  • StorageGRID reports:
    • Alert Appliance compute controller needs attention
    • Alert A hardware fault has been detected in the compute controller of a StorageGRID appliance
    • Alarm CCNA (Compute Controller Needs Attention)
  • For StorageGRID 11.9 or later, the following alert is  also detected

Appliance CMOS battery fault
A problem was detected with the CMOS battery in the appliance.

89    Jan/6/2022    17:46:55    [Information]    [Volt_P3V_BAT]  [Voltage]Lower Critical - Going Low (Reading: 2.667 Volts/ Threshold: 2.520 Volts) - Deasserted

  • bycast.log reports P3V non-OK  error:

WARNING  0283 CCST: IPMI device Volt_P3V_BAT reports non-OK status 'At or Below (<=) Lower Critical Threshold'
