ONTAP 9

Answer

The drop-down listing should only have one entry for each Feature Release version that has not passed its End of Self-Support date in the following order of preference:

  • The latest Service Update
  • The latest General Availability Feature Release
  • The latest Release Candidate Feature Release

In other words, only the very newest version of the Feature Release should be shown.  This is typically the release with the most recent fix payload.

If a release is not seen on the list:

  • It does not mean that the release is not recommended.
  • It just means that it is not the latest release of that specific Feature Release.

For the minimum recommended releases of ONTAP 9 see SU2.
