Applies to

  • All ONTAP versions

Issue

  • A disk fails in such a way that ONTAP cannot tell if the disk was physically removed, or if the disk was still in the system and unresponsive.
  • As a result, the disk does fail but ONTAP does not recognize the failure and does not trigger an Autosupport. It treats the issue as if the disk was removed (which is not an Autosupport-generating event).
