"No boot device available or Operating System detected" while attempting to boot SolidFire/HCI Node

Issue

  • The following is reported in the Active IQ Error Log or Element UI Alerts: The SolidFire Application cannot communicate with node ID X.
  • After attempting to reboot/power cycle the node, it does not boot to Element and the following errors are observed during POST:
    No boot device available or Operating System detected.
    Current boot mode is set to BIOS
    Please ensure compatible bootable media is available.
    Use the system setup program to change the boot mode as needed.
