Description

SnapCenter Plug-In for Exchange backups fail with the error VSS_E_PROVIDER_VETO

Cause Resolution
Insufficient free space in the volume to create a snapshot Increase free space on the volume
Space reservation is enabled on the LUN Disable space reservation
GPT Disk is missing a 'Reserved' Partition Create an MSR partition on the disk
GPT Disk is missing an 'Unknown' partition Extend the disk size
GPT Disk or partition on the disk has an issue Resolve the issue in the disk shown in the Application event logs
Duplicate SVM names or IP addresses Assign unique SVM names and IP addresses
Data ONTAP VSS Hardware Provider (Navssprv) password is incorrect Update the NAVSSPRV service account password
Data ONTAP VSS Hardware Provider (Navssprv) is corrupt or broken Repair the plug-in package and re-register the Navssprv service
