How to configure and troubleshoot NTP in ONTAP 9 using CLI
Applies to
- ONTAP 9
- Network Time Protocol (NTP)
Description
- Network Time Protocol (NTP) in ONTAP 9 is always enabled -- it cannot be disabled.
- It is important that the cluster has the correct date/time set at all times, because job schedules, CIFS authentication, logging, and system processes rely on it.
- If you do not configure an NTP server, each node will use another node in the cluster (a "peer") as an NTP server to sync time.
