  • You cannot add NTP server when using custom service policies for the management LIFs:
Cluster::*> ntp server create -server x.x.x.x
  (cluster time-service ntp server create)

Error: command failed: Connecting to NTP server "x.x.x.x" with address
x.x.x.x failed with reason: "Network is unreachable"

Cluster::*> cluster time-service ntp server create -server my.ntp.server.com

Error: command failed: Connecting to NTP server "my.ntp.server.com" with
address x.x.x.x failed with reason: "Network is unreachable"
  • You can ping the NTP servers using the management LIFs.
  • The admin Vserver/SVM network routing is correct.
  • The management LIFs are using a custom LIF service policy.

vserver lif service-policy
-------- ------------ ------------------
cluster1 cluster_mgmt ssh-mgmt
cluster1 node_mgmt1 ssh-mgmt
