  • An AFF or ASA storage system installed with internal-only NVMe solid-state drives (SSDs) will show Single-Path HA for its System Storage Configuration in sysconfig nodeshell CLI output:

  • Single-Path HA is expected and normal
    • Each controller in the chassis has a single direct PCIe-based connection to each NVMe SSD installed in the system's internal shelf.
    • Host Bus Adapter (HBA) ports for these internal connections are virtual, i.e.
      Virtual NVMe Host Adapter 0n

  • If external storage shelves are added to the system, then System Storage Configuration should show as Multi-Path HA if the external shelves are correctly cabled.
