Answer
- 30 seconds is the expected time for IO recovery to active/unoptimized paths
- When a network failure occurs on both active/optimized paths and not directly impacting layer 2 connectivity for target or initiator
Note:
- Host setup for MPIO with Windows Host Utilities installed settings and recommended registry values
- This scenario is extremely unlikely if you follow MPIO best practices and have two target ports on each node each in separate networks
- Normal failures directly impacting initiator or target will complete IO recovery in less time
